Bangladesh Awami League's presidium member, former shipping minister and MP for Madaripur-2 constituency Shahjahan Khan was infected with the Covid-19 virus.
Madaripur Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Ikramul Hossain confirmed the matter at 10:30 pm on Monday (January 31). He is currently in isolation at his residence in Madaripur with the advice of a doctor.
Dr Ikramul Hussain said, "MP Shahjahan Khan was staying at his residence in Madaripur for several days. He was suffering from a cold for the last 3-4 days. Later on Saturday, the health workers of the district health department went to his residence and collected samples for the corona test. The virus was detected in the antigen test. '
Dr Ikram Hossain further said, "The Member of Parliament is currently in Home Isolation as he is suffering from Corona. He has been asked to stay in isolation for 10 days. His physical condition is quite good. However, everyone is forbidden to meet him directly.
