Police Week-2022 kicks off following the rules of hygiene amid a spike in coronavirus infection. The five-day police week started with the annual police parade at Rajarbagh Police Lines ground under the theme 'Skilled Police, Prosperous Country, Bangabandhu's Bangladesh'.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Police Week virtually on Sunday (January 23) at 10 am from Ganobhaban. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal inspected the parade on the instructions of the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister took salutes from various contingents of the police and smart spectacular flag-bearing parades.
This time, the police headquarters has already informed that every event of the police week will be held following the hygiene rules. The main roads and road islands of the capital have been decorated with colourful decorations around Police Week.
The Superintendent of Police Md. Saleh Uddin is leading the annual police parade. Under his leadership, members of various contingents took part in the parade.
On the occasion of Police Week, medals will be given to a total of 230 police personnel including 115 in 2020 and 115 in 2021. Medals include Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM), Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) -Service, Presidential Police Medal (PPM), Presidential Police Medal (PPM) -Service.
