This time the DNCC cleaning worker was killed as a garbage truck hits her in the Mohakhali area of the capital. DNCC garbage truck previously hits Notre Dame College student and a media worker.
Shikha Rani Bharani, 55, a cleaning worker of Dhaka North City Corporation, was killed in a head-on collision with a garbage truck. The accident took place in Mohakhali of the city. Shah Alam of Tejgaon Police Station (Inspector Investigation) confirmed the information on Sunday (January 23).
The deceased Shikha Rani Bharani lives with her family in the seven-storey slum area of Mohakhali.
Inspector Shah Alam said that the cleaning worker was sweeping the road in front of the Mohakhali flyover towards Jahangir Gate at around 2 am on Saturday. The woman died on the spot when a white garbage truck coming through the flyover hit her. The garbage truck fled after that incident. Police are investigating to identify the truck.
