Bangladesh lost the three-match ODI series keeping one match in hand losing the first two games against New Zealand. Now, their target is to avoid the whitewash by managing a victory in the last match.
However, Bangladesh stand-in captain Najmul Hossain Shanto has been observing some positive areas in the team despite losing the series.
During a discussion with the media on Friday, Shanto said, "I think we will play the next game in pursuit of victory. We set a target in the beginning but that did not happen. We were a bit unlucky in the first game due to rain. Soumya (Opener Soumya Sarkar) played nicely in the second match as well as Rishad (Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain). There are also some positive things."
"It is necessary to look over the areas we are doing well this year. The bowling spell of Rishad was great, and the comeback of Soumya was outstanding. Shoriful (Pacer Shoriful Islam) is doing well with the new balls. So, it is possible to win the match if we play as a team," he added.
