Bangladesh left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman got a new team to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 edition.
Defending champions Chennai Super Kings, also the highest five-time league champions, picked him up at an auction held in Dubai. He was sold at his base price of Rs 2 crore (Tk 2.64 crore).
In the player draft for the auction, there were three names from Bangladesh - Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) removed the names of Taskin and Shoriful earlier, keeping Mustafiz in special consideration.
BCB said Mustafiz can play in the tournament from March 22 to May 11. After that, he will have to join the national team.
Earlier, Mustafiz played with Delhi Capitals in the last two editions. This time the franchise did not keep him again. As a result, he had to include his name in the players` draft for the auction.
