Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team have sealed a thumping win by nine wickets to reach the semifinals with one match in hand.
Opting to bowl first, the young Tigers bundled out Japan for 99 runs in 47.1 overs, with seven bowlers getting in the wickets column in their Group B match in Dubai on Monday.
Targeting 100 runs, Bangladesh easily overtook the meager target, with Ashiqur Rahman hitting an unbeaten 55 off 45 balls and his opening partner Jishan Alam 29 off 16 balls.
Earlier Bangladesh beat the UAE by 61 runs in their first game on Saturday. After two straight wins, they are now at the top of the table. Their next match will take place against Sri Lanka on Wednesday.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals of the eight-team tournament.
