Bangladesh will go for New Zealand tour to play three ODIs and T20s each in the next month. Ahead of these series, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced two separate squads on Thursday (November 30).
Three regular faces - skipper Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah Riyad and Taskin Ahmed - were dropped out of the squads due to their injuries.
For instance, Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead both of the series in the absence of regular captain Shakib Al Hasan while Mehidy Hasan Miraz will assist him in making decisions.
Meanwhile, Soumya Sarker, the most preferred student of head coach Chandrika Hathurusingha, was back in both of the squads after a long time.
Pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib retained his place in the ODI squad and received his first call-up in the T20 squad. Left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan was included for the first time in the ODI team, while fellow left-armer Tanvir Islam, who played a single T20 match against England in March, was called back.
