Nasir Hossain was one of the best performers in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) last edition with his all-round performance. He scored 366 runs with an average of 45.75 and got 16 wickets while playing for Dhaka Dominators.
Despite this all-round craft, Nasir will not be allowed to play in the upcoming edition of BPL. His name has not been kept in the players` draft for the BPL 2024.
Not only the BPL, but also Nasir cannot participate in any domestic level cricket due to the allegation of the International Cricket Council (ICC) for corruption, said BCB chief selector Minhazul Abedin Nannu.
He said, "We did not include his name in the players` draft. Without the clearance from the ICC, he cannot play any kind of tournament in Bangladesh."
The ICC accused Nasir of corruption of breaching three Anti-Corruption Codes by taking gifts of more than worth USD 750 from a suspected person while playing in the T10 League in Abu Dabi.
