BNP leaders and activists entered the party central office in Nayapaltan in the capital on Thursday (January 11) morning breaking open the lock.
The Nayaplatan office was locked for 75 days following the BNP`s clash with police on October 28, 2023.
Around 10:35am, some 15-20 party men led by senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi gathered in front of the office and broke open the lock. Later, they entered the office. At that time, they were shouting various slogans in the name of party founder Ziaur Rahman and Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
"We entered the office by breaking the lock. A massive rally was foiled through a brutal crackdown by the government’s subservient law-enforcement agencies on October 28…later police locked the office," said Rizvi, adding that, they will hold a press conference at the office at 3pm.
The Nayaplatan office was locked from October 29 after daylong clash between the party men and the police on October 28 last centering a rally.
