BNP standing committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan has said that ‍‍`people don‍‍`t know that the 12th Jatiya Sangsad election has already been held.

He said members of parliament are not being elected this time. Rather, they are being selected.

Moyeen Khan made the remarks on Tuesday (January 2) during the distribution of leaflets at Gulshan in the capital demanding abandoning the voting,

He said, "We are on the street and we will remain there. We are not obstructing the election. Rather we‍‍`re boycotting the polls.

"BNP‍‍`s objective is to give back the voting rights of people. Our peaceful movement goes on toward that direction," Moyeen Khan said.

The BNP leader said, "Our goal is to restore democracy, re-establish the voting rights of people and ensure peaceful politics in the country. We have been distributing the leaflets to achieve that goal. People have already received the message that it will not be an election, rather it is a game in the name of election."
