Voting in the 12th Jatiya Sangsad election will be held on January 7 next. Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal announced the schedule through a televised address to the nation on Wednesday evening.
Following the announcement of the election schedule, the ruling Awami League and its associate organisations brought out processions welcoming the announcement.
The Awami League leaders, activists and supporters brought out processions across the country immediately after the announcement of the schedule by CEC Kazi Habibul Awal.
The Awami League party office at 23 Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital was filled with leaders and activists marking the announcement.
Before the announcement, leaders and activists were seen gathering in and around the party`s Bangabandhu Avenue office in Gulistan, preparing to bring out a procession to welcome the polls schedule.
