JaPa won‍‍`t take part in elections under this govt anymore: GM Quader

Blaming the Sheikh Hasina-led government for its ‍‍`failure to run the country properly,‍‍` Jatiya Party chairman GM Quader has said, "People don‍‍`t want to see the Awami League government in power anymore. Jatiya Party will not take part in any election under this government."

GM Quader made the remark while responding to queries of journalists at Gaibandha Circuit House on Thursday afternoon.

The JaPa chairman said the government has totally failed to control the prices of essentials. Prices of essentials are not coming under control due to mismanagement, wastage and unbridled corruption of the government. The government is now trying to control the prices of essentials making various excuses."

Referring to the next parliamentary elections, GM Quader said, "Bangladesh political situation is still unclear and uncertain. People have apprehension whether the election will take place at right time. So, we have not been able to take any decision to form alliance. We are taking preparation to contest in all 300 seats of Jatiya Sangsad. Because of it, the party is being strengthened at grassroots level holding councils in all districts. Besides, we are working at every constituency for contesting the election by nominating candidates. We will nominate our candidates in all 300 constituencies of Jatiya Sangsad including Gaibandha."

JaPa secretary general Mujibul Huque Chunnu MP, presidium member and Gaibandha District JaPa convener Abdur Rashid Sarker, presidium member and additional secretary general Barrister Shamim Haider Patwary, among others, were present.

Later, GM Quader addressed at the biennial conference of Jatiya Party held at Islam Mia High School ground in the afternoon.
