News Desk

Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser on Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, announced today that Aramco, the national oil company of Saudi Arabia, has agreed to supply liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Bangladesh at reduced prices.

"Currently, Bangladesh imports LNG from two countries. Aramco has now agreed to provide it at a lower cost," Rizwana stated during a press briefing held at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka this afternoon.

Addressing law and order in the country, she emphasized that there is no place for "mob justice" or "moral policing" in Bangladesh, reaffirming the interim government‍‍`s strict stance against such actions.

"Our position is clear—mob justice and moral policing have no place in Bangladesh," she asserted, adding that the government remains committed to preventing violence against women.

Regarding school admissions, Rizwana mentioned that children from families affected by the July uprising, including martyrs and victims, will receive special admission facilities on a one-time basis. However, she clarified that this initiative is unrelated to any quota system.

She further noted that approximately 1,200 families would benefit from this provision.

Chief Adviser‍‍`s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, Deputy Press Secretaries Apurba Jahangir and Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, and Assistant Press Secretary Suchismita Tithi were also present at the briefing.
