Secondary school admission quota extended to families of July martyrs, injured

News Desk

In addition to the children of freedom fighters and martyred freedom fighters, the government has decided to reserve seats for the families of those injured or martyred in the July uprising for admission to government secondary schools.

A recent directive from the Ministry of Education states that 5% of seats will be reserved for the children of freedom fighters, martyred freedom fighters and the families of those injured or martyred in the uprising.

Previously, the admission policy allocated a 5% quota exclusively for the children of freedom fighters and martyred freedom fighters.

Now, this 5% quota will also include the families of those injured or martyred in the July uprising.

To be eligible, applicants must submit attested copies of relevant documents or official gazettes along with their application and present the original documents during admission.

The verification process must be carried out using freedom fighter certificates issued by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs or official gazettes listing the martyrs of the July uprising.

If no eligible candidates from these categories are available, the reserved seats must be filled from the merit list—under no circumstances should any seat remain vacant.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has been instructed to implement this directive accordingly.
