The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in four divisions of the country. On Saturday (February 22), scattered rain or thundershowers are expected in some areas of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, and Khulna divisions. Since the morning, Dhaka`s sky has been cloudy and hazy, hinting at the possibility of rain.
As winter gradually fades, unexpected rainfall has drenched the capital. At around 1:45 pm, drizzles began in different parts of Dhaka. Reports indicate hailstorms in areas such as Jatrabari, Badda, Link Road, and Gulshan.
Though the sun was visible in the morning, the sky became overcast as the day progressed. By noon, the rain started suddenly, catching many off guard.
A seasonal low-pressure system is currently positioned over the southern Bay of Bengal, and its influence is expected to grow by tomorrow. As a result, the maximum daytime temperature could drop by up to 3°C.
Sunday`s (February 23) forecast suggests that rain or thundershowers may occur in isolated areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Nighttime temperatures are expected to remain steady across the country, while daytime temperatures may drop by 1 to 3°C.
