No more right turn at Bijoy Sarani for vehicles from Jahangir Gate

Vehicles coming from Jahangir Gate will no longer be allowed to take a right turn at Bijoy Sarani intersection from today.

Instead, these vehicles must turn right before the Chief Adviser‍‍`s Office gate, use the Agargaon Link Road, and continue to their destinations via the BICC or Agargaon crossing.

Starting today, vehicles heading towards Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi, Khejurbagan, and Manik Mia Avenue must follow the Agargaon link road route.

To ease congestion at the Bijoy Sarani intersection, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has implemented the new traffic regulations, DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali issued this directive through a public notice issued recently.

The traffic department has already implemented similar measures in areas such as Manik Mia Avenue and Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Avenue in Tejgaon Industrial Area. According to DMP, these changes have significantly reduced congestion, and residents are beginning to see improvements in traffic flow.

DMP has emphasised that these measures are crucial for maintaining smooth traffic movement and has sought full cooperation from city dwellers to make the initiative successful.
