Banks have been asked to freeze all personal and solely-owned companies` accounts of HBM Iqbal, chairman of Premier Bank, and his family members.
A former member of parliament, Iqbal is also the chairman of Premier Group of Companies Ltd.
Order was also given to freeze the accounts of Iqbal`s wife Anjuman Ara Shilpi, his sons Moin Uddin Iqbal and Ikram Iqbal and daughter Nowrin Iqbal.
The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) through a letter last week ordered keeping the accounts frozen for 30 days in the first phase.
It also sought an update of the accounts within four working days.
