Health Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen has ordered to shut unregistered private hospitals and clinics across the country.
"If the authorities do not close the clinics-hospitals, the ministry will take strict action."
The minister came up with the directive on Tuesday at the secretariat while briefing journalists.
The action has been taken after the death of five-year-old Ayaan at United Medical College Hospital in the capital`s Badda area, which has no license.
Earlier this morning, Ayaan`s family members met the minister with their four-point demand, including fair trial.
Samanta Lal said, "I myself have been a victim of an unlicensed hospitals. Therefore, I will not tolerate such negligence. I`ve already said that I will stand against corruption.
His stern message was clear: unregistered medical facilities must voluntarily cease operations or face severe consequences from the health ministry.
Highlighting the severity of consequences, the health minister discussed the heart-wrenching case of child Ayan’s death. "The incident of Ayaan`s death is deeply tragic. We are awaiting the investigating committee’s report, and rest assured, appropriate actions will follow," he assured.
