The High Court has ordered to submit the investigation report over the death of five-year-old Ayaan, who died following full anesthesia during a circumcision procedure at United Medical College Hospital on December 31.

The court, at the same time, issued a rule asking the authorities concerned to explain why they should not be directed to take necessary steps to give Tk 5 crore to the family of Ayaan as compensation.

An HC bench of Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md Atabullah issued this rule on Monday.

Earlier on Sunday, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued a order to close United Medical College Hospital, situated in the capital‍‍`s Badda area, for not having the registration.

On December 31, Ayaan was admitted to the United Medical College Hospital for circumcision. When his physical condition deteriorated due to excessive anesthesia, his father took him to United Hospital. There he was on life support for seven days.

On January 9, Ayaan‍‍`s father Md Shamim Ahmed filed a case against United Hospital and United Medical College Hospital, two of its doctors, unnamed directors, employees and staff over the death.
