Sangsad Bhaban is becoming ready to welcome the newly-elected members of parliament (MPs) of 12th Jatiya Sangsad.
The oath-taking room will be readied by Tuesday for sworn-in the MPs. Preparations were taken by the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat after conclusion of the election on Sunday.
Sources at the Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat said a gazette notification of new MPs would be published on Tuesday and then their swearing-in ceremony will be held on Wednesday.
It is learnt that the Election Commission will publish the results of the newly elected MPs of 12th Jatiya Sangsad through a gazette notification by Tuesday. If the gazette is published on Tuesday, the newly-elected MPs will have to take oath as MPs within three working days according to the existing law.
The Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat and Awami League party sources said Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury will administer the oath of newly-elected MPs. Prior to it, Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury herself will take oath as the new MP. Then she will sworn-in others. After the swearing-in ceremony, a meeting of the Awami League Parliamentary Party will be held at the designated room in the Sangsad Bhaban.
On the basis of majority, first the newly-elected MPs of Awami League will take oath. Then Jatiya Party and other MPs will take oath.
It is also learnt that on the occasion of swearing-in ceremony, both inside and outside of Sangsad Bhaban have been cleaned.
