President to vote in national polls Wednesday

President Mohammed Shahabuddin will cast his vote in the 12th national election on Wednesday (January 3) through the postal ballot.

Assistant Press Secretary of the President Rahat Hasnat confirmed the news to the Daily Observer and said, “President Mohammed Shahabuddin will vote from the Bangabhaban at around 12pm on Wednesday (January 3).”

Election Commission (EC) has launched a campaign to encourage postal ballot voting in the 12th general election. As a part of the campaign EC decided to cast president’s vote by postal ballot.

The 12th General Election is scheduled to hold on January 7
