Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested eight more people from different parts of the country in connection with their alleged involvement in vandalism, arson and sabotage.
With the new number, the elite force has so far arrested a total of 890 people on October 28, said a RAB press release.
Among the arrested, Adam Ali Sarkar, joint convener of Shahzadpur upazila unit Swechasebak Dal, and Sarwar Uddin Selim, convener of Chattogram district unit Swechasebak Dal.
RAB`s intelligence surveillance has been increased in important places, including bus stands and railway stations, to prevent any kind of vandalism and violence, said the press release.
Besides, a total of 422 patrol teams of the elite force have been deployed across the country to maintain law and order, it added.
