Election Commission (EC), has, so far, received 227 applications from the foreign observers and journalists to observe and cover the 12th national elections slated for January 7.
Among those, 156 were foreign observers and 71 journalists who are interested in observing and covering the elections.
EC sources said that the commission will sit with eight stakeholders on Sunday ( December 17) regarding visa clearance and accreditation for the foreigners
Besides, the EC will hold an inter-ministerial meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Department of Public Safety and Security Services, the NSI and DGFI at the chief election commissioner`s (CEC) conference room in Agargaon`s Nirbachon Bhaba in the capital.
Additional Secretary of the EC Secretariat Ashok Kumar Debnath will preside over meeting.
