Rail link with Dhaka restored 4 hours after derailment

The country‍‍`s rail communication with Dhaka has been restored on one track after being halted more than four hours due to the derailment of a train in the city‍‍`s Tejgaon area.

The train movement became normal around 10:00 pm on Thursday, said Kamalapur Railway Station manager Mohammad Masud Sarwar.

Earlier, Titas Commuter train derailed after being hit by a crane of the Dhaka Elevated Expressway in Tejgaon area.

The incident took place around 5:30 pm after the Kamalapur-bound train left Tejgaon station.

After that, the rail operation of the country has been suspended with Dhaka, however, the rescue operation started immediately to restore the communication.

However, no casualties were reported immediately.
