Seven friends sustained burn injuries from an explosion caused by gas leakage at a house in Savar`s Aminbazar on Friday night.
The incident took place at 12midnight.
The seven were admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery with 6 to 28 per cent of burns, said the duty doctors.
The injured are Md Rayhan, 23, Md MOnanul, 21, Md Al Amin, 26, Md Rubel, 24, Md Jewel, 26, Md Nahid, 20, and Md Hadim, 20.
It was learned that the seven friends were gossiping in a room that had been closed for a long time. Suddenly, the explosion occurred when one of them lit a match for a cigarette. The blast happened due to accumulated gas.
