The Election Commission (EC) led by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal is going to announce the 12th national parliamentary polls schedule on Wednesday.
The EC has convened a meeting at 5:00pm on Wednesday at the EC Secretariat in Dhaka to discuss the schedule for the upcoming national election.
For the first time, CEC Kazi Habibul Awal is likely to address the nation at 7:00pm, sources in the EC said.
EC Secretary Jahangir Alam said he will hold a press briefing at 10:00am on Wednesday to inform when and how the schedule would be announced.
A decision to announce the polls schedule was taken at an informal meeting of the EC on Tuesday (November 14).
The possible date of the 12th national parliamentary election has been set at January 6.
