300 people arrested over October 28 violence

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested over 300 people from different areas, including Dhaka, in connection with the violence and sabotage activities during the BNP’s grand rally on October 28.

RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khondoker Al Moyeen said the people were arrested for their involvement in carrying out attacks, vandalism during BNP’s rally in Paltan area of the capital and perpetrating various crimes, including sabotage, arson attacks, crude bomb explosion, police man killing and injuring journalists.

He said to ensure security of the people, a total of 450 RAB patrol teams have been working across the country since the first day of 48-hours blockade enforced by BNP-Jammat. Of these, 150 RAB patrol teams have been engaged in the capital on the first day of the 4th time blockade.

The elite forces have also strengthened the cyber surveillance aiming to identify those one who would be involved with cyber crime activities through spreading rumors.

They also have been working to indentified the accused after analyzing the CCTV and video footage collecting from the mass and social medias for their alleged involvement of arson attack, vandalizing of public transports and sabotage at various places, including the capital.
