For the first time, Ziaul Faruq Apurba and Naznin Nahar Niha have teamed up in the drama "Mon Duari". Directed by Jakaria Showkhin, the drama premiered yesterday evening on CMV`s YouTube channel.
Speaking about his co-star, Apurba shared, "Niha has immense potential to go far. She is eager to learn and acts with dedication. That`s her greatest strength, and it will take her a long way. Her performance in this drama is so impressive that one has to see it to believe it."
Niha also Expressed her excitement, stating, "It was a dream of mine to act alongside Apurba bhaiya, and that dream has finally come true. I am overjoyed. Apurba bhaiya and Showkhin bhaiya have supported me throughout, and I gave my best effort."
Unlike the usual Valentine`s Day dramas that follow a predictable pattern, "Mon Duari" offers a unique narrative. Director Jakaria Showkhin hinted at this distinction, saying, "Our story is completely different. That`s all I can reveal for now—viewers will understand once they watch it."
Centred around family bonds and romance, "Mon Duari" follows Apurba, who returns from New York to take his grandmother abroad. However, his family strongly opposes his decision.
Amidst this conflict, he meets Niha, and as their relationship deepens, she helps him unlock the closed doors of his heart. Moved by this, he gives her the name "Mon Duari" (The Keeper of the Heart).
The drama has been jointly written by Nasir Khan and Jakaria Showkhin.
The cast also includes Dilara Zaman, Aminur Rahman Bachchu, Shafiul Alam Babu, Mili Munshi, Sharmin Sultana Shormi, Raisa, among others.
Featuring two original tracks, "Mon Duari" brings a musical touch to its storytelling. One song, written by Someshwar Oli, has been composed by Sajid Sarkar and performed by Kona and Rehan Rasul.
The second track, penned by Limon, is composed and sung by Nazir Mahmud, with music arrangement by Sajib Das.
