Today, a Dhaka court granted bail to film producer, Rahmat Ullah after he was served a case filed by Shakib Khan. The Dhallywood actor stated in his case that Rahmat Ullah had tried to extort him by demanding AUD 100,000.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate, Arafatul Rakib passed the order after Rahmat Ullah appeared before the court, accompanied by his lawyer, seeking bail.

In today's hearing, Shakib Khan was not present, as he had submitted a time petition through his lawyer. Earlier, on March 23, Shakib Khan filed a case against Rahmat Ullah with a Dhaka court on the charges of extortion.

Following a hearing, the magistrate had recorded Shakib's testimony, after taking cognizance of the charges against the producer. On March 27, Shakib filed another case with a Dhaka Tribunal, against Rahmat Ullah, under the Digital Security Act (DSA), for making "objectionable" remarks about him.

After the hearing, judge AM Zulfiker Hayet, from the Dhaka Cyber Tribunal, recorded Shakib's statement. They then took cognizance of the charges and directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to submit a report after an investigation into the issue. The PBI were directed to submit the report within 30 days, according to court sources.

In the meantime, Rahmat Ullah filed a case against Shakib Khan, stating the actor had made derogatory statements about him.
