Bangabandhu Higher Education Scholarships were provided among the students of poor communities in Joypurhat district on Monday.
A local development organization "JAKAS Foundation" organized the scholarship distribution ceremony at its office in the afternoon in collaboration with Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) and Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF).
Joypurhat deputy commissioner Salehin Tanvir Gazi was present as the chief guest on the occasion with JAKAS Foundation executive director Nurul Amin in the chair.
JAKAS Foundation deputy executive director Abul Bashar, director (Activities) Rafiqul Islam Badsha, director (Administration) Mortuza Akter Banu, Joypurhat Press Club vice president Shahadul Islam Saju spoke as honored guests.
Later, the deputy commissioner handed over cheques to a total of 57 students.
