Wild elephant kills farmer in Chattogram

A farmer was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Chattogram‍‍`s Lohagara upazila on Monday.

The dead was Shaheb Mia, 70, hailed from Adhunagar Shikdarpara.

It was known that a herd of wild elephant entered into a betel leaf field at Bhadulliar Duri in the morning. Saheb was attacked by a wild elephant when he was working at his field. He died on the spot.

Lohagara upazila forest officer Rafiqul Islam confirmed it.

He said the process is on to provide compensation to the family members of the deceased.
