United People`s Democratic Front (UPDF) will hold a day-long road blockade programme in Khagrachhari district on Monday, protesting the murder of its four members in Panchhari upazila of the district on December 11.
The programme will be observed from 6am to 6pm in the district.
Aungue Marma, a UPDF organiser, through a press release informed about the road blockade programme for Monday.
He said ambulance, vehicle used for carrying medicine, newspapers, journalists, will be out of the programme.
Meanwhile, UPDF on Sunday observed the daylong strike in Panchhari upazila protesting the killing.
They will also boycott Panchhari Bazar for a month starting from December 15.
On December 11, a group of ‘masked’ people carried out the gun attack between 9:30pm and 10pm in a remote Anilpara of Pujgang in Panchhari upazila of the district before a youth conference in the area scheduled for Tuesday. They have killed four leaders of the United People`s Democratic Front (UPDF) and abducted three others.
The deceased are identified as UPDF-backed Democratic Youth Forum’s central organising secretary and Pahari Chhatra Parishad former president Bipul Chakma, 32, DYF’s Khagrachari district unit vice-president Liton Chakma, 29, UPDF’s student wing Pahari Chhatra Parishad central vice-president Sunil Tripura, 28, and UPDF organiser Ruhin Bikash Tripura, 49.
On December 15, Bangladesh Army rescued the abducted three members of UPDF from Panchhari upazila of the district.
