Shahin Molla, a life-term convict in a murder case, and an inhabitant of Nalchity upazila in Jhalakathi district, has been arrested by police after long 20 years.
A team led by Nalchity Police Station`s assistant sub-inspector Awalad Hossain and Jasim Uddin arrested Shahin Molla from airport area in the capital on Friday (December 15) night in cooperation with RAB.
Arrested Shahin Molla is the son of Motiar Rahman Molla alias Moti Molla, of village Madhya Kamdevpur of Mollarhat union under Nalchity upazila.
He remained fugitive in guise at various places in the country after a court delivered verdict against him in the case.
Nalchity Police Station`s officer-in-charge (OC) Murad Ali said Shahin Molla was sent to Jhalakathi District Jail after his arrest from airport area in Dhaka with the help of RAB.
He said a murder case was filed against Shahin Molla back in 2003 with Nalchity Police Station. In that case, a Jhalakathi district court sentenced him to rigorous life imprisonment and issued an arrest warrant against him. Since then he went into hiding to avert arrest.
