Bangladesh Army has rescued three members of United People`s Democratic Front (UPDF), who were abducted from Panchhari upazila of Khagrachhari district on Monday.
The rescued persons are --- Niti Dutta Chakma, Hari Kamal Tripura and Milon Tripura, of UPDF Prasit Group.
Khagrachhari Zone Commander Lt Col Abul Hasnat Jewel said based on secret information, a team of Bangladesh Army conducted the drive in Tarabonchara area of Latiban union around at 9pm on Thursday.
They found the abductees with their hands tied and faces covered at around 12:30 am on Friday.
Later, the team handed the three rescued persons over to the Panchhari Police Station.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Panchhari Police Station Shafiul Azam said the rescued persons were handed over to their relatives through local public representatives.
Meanwhile, on Monday night, miscreants carried out attack at Anilpara of Pujgang in Panchhari upazila and killed four people, including the central organizing secretary of the UPDF-backed Democratic Youth Forum Bipul Chakma. Later, they abducted three UPDF members.
