The train movement on the Dhaka-Mymensingh route resumed on Thursday morning after 26 hours` of suspension following a derailment at Sreepur upazila in Gazipur.
Bhawal Express left Joydevpur station at 5:55am after completion of repair work, said Joydebpur Railway Station master Hanif Ali.
He said seven compartments of Mohanganj Express derailed at about 4am on Wednesday as miscreants cut the line near Rajendrapur station in Sreepur. A man was killed and seven others were injured in the accident.
Later, the train movement on the Joydebpur-Mymensingh route suspended. But hours after, Bangladesh Railway authorities resumed trains operation toward Mymensingh on an alternate route via Tongi.
