A man was killed and at least seven were injured after a passenger train derailed at Bhawal Railway Station in Gazipur early Wednesday.
The accident took place on the Joydebpur-Mymensingh rail route around 4am.
Joydebpur Railway Station Master Hanif Ali said seven carriages of a Dhaka-bound `Mohonganj Express` train derailed at Joydebpur station at an early hours.
After the accident, train communication between Joydebpur and Mymensingh remained suspended.
The injured were admitted to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital in Gazipur.
Gazipur deputy commissioner Abul Fateh Mohammad Shafiqul Islam said the accident occurred as the miscreants cut off the rail tracks.
Superintendent of Gazipur police Kazi Shafiqul Alam said, "Police are investigating the incident whether its an accident or an act of sabotage."
