Two people were killed after their motorcycle crashed into a roadside tree at Sundarganj upazila in Gaibandha district on Friday.
The accident took place around 7:30 pm in Hannaner Mor area.
The deceased were identified as Sajid Miah, 18, and Jewel Rana, 18, hailed from Rangpur district.
Quoting locals, Sundarganj Police Station sub-inspector Syed Mamun Haque said a motorcycle hit a roadside tree while it was recklessly being ridden.
The accident left one of its riders dead on the spot and another critically injured who died on the way to a hospital.
On information, police recovered the bodies, he added.
