Three Ansar Al Islam members held

Members of the Anti-Terrorism Unit (ATU), a specialised unit of Bangladesh Police, in separate drives in different places of the country arrested three members of the banned militant outfit Ansar Al Islam.

The arrested were identified as Md. Ruhul Amin, 19, hailed from Dinajpur district, Md. Riazul Islam, 23, hailed from Jashore district, and fugitive accused Ariful Islam Rahat, 31, hailed from Sylhet district.

Acting on a tip-off, separate teams of ATU police conducted separate rides in different places of Gazipur, Jashore and city‍‍`s Pastogola area and arrested them, said an ATU press release.

Necessary legal action has been taken against the arrested accused, police officials said.
