A young autorickshaw driver died from electrocution at Faridganj upazila in Chandpur district on Sunday night.
The incident took place at around 9pm in Charkumira village under Faridganj municipality.
The deceased was identified as Mohsin Miji, 28, son of late Bashir Uddin, a resident of the aforesaid village.
According to the deceased`s family members, Mohsin came into contact with live electric wire when he was trying to connect his autorickshaw charger, leaving him unconscious.
He was rescued and taken to Faridganj Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Faridganj Police Station officer-in-charge Pradip Mondal said being informed, police recovered the body from the spot and handed over to the family members without autopsy upon their request.
