A young man got married in court to a girl three years after their love affair. But the girl divorced him in a span of 11 days as the economic condition of his family was fragile.
As a result, the young man swore to himself that he would not go with any marriage relationship further. At that time, he declared himself a chaste person by taking a bath in one mound of milk.
The incident took place at Pargali village in Jamalpur Sadar upazila on Friday (November 10) which, later, went viral on social media on early Monday (November 13).
The name of the young man is Ishan Mahmud Srabon, son of Abul Kashem, a resident of Mirzapur village in the upazila. He used to study at his maternal grandfather`s home in the Pargali village.
Locals said Srabon married a local girl on October 29 in Jamalplur Magistrate Court after having a love affair for three years. However, the family of the girl did not recognise the marriage as the economic condition of Srabon`s family was not good. At one stage, the girl divorced him on November 8. Srabon was mentally broken in that incident, and then he decided not to marry again in life.
Srabon said, "She (his former wife) divorced me in a span of only 11 days. I want to spend the rest of my life with that memory. I also decided not to build any love affair and got married. People don`t forgive their exes but I do."
