Three people, including two students, were killed and two others injured in separate road accidents in Patiya, Fatikchhari and Chandanaish upazilas in Chattogram on Sunday night and Monday morning.
Police have identified the deceased Tairin Tabassum Toha,9, Noor Hossain ,13 and Montu Kar,50.
In Fatikchhari, three students, including Tairin Tabassum Toha, a primary school student, were going to the school around 9:30am .The accident occurred when the a `Chander Gari` (a vehicle that usually carries tourists) hit the trio in Nazirhat area, leaving them injured.
They were taken to Nazirhat Health Complex where Toha succumbed to her injuries and one of the injured was sent to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital.
In Chandanaish, a teenage boy Noor Hossain was killed after speedy CNG auto-rickshaw crashed him in front of Barma College around 8:30 am.
Obaidul Islam , officer-in-charge of Chandanaish police station said they detained driver Md Jahangir ,32, and seized the auto-rickshaw.
Legal action will be taken in this regard, added the OC.
Meanwhile, the elderly man Montu died on the spot when a bus of Eagle Paribahan hit him on Chittagong -Cox`s Bazar highway of Patiya upazila around 10:30pm on Sunday.
Md Moniruzzaman, sub-inspector of Patiya Crossing Highway Police Station, said police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to the morgue , he said, adding that the bus was seized but the driver and his helper managed to flee.
