A lorry truck driver was killed and two others were injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar on Monday morning.
The accident took place at around 6.00am in Savar Thana Stand area along the highway.
The deceased was identified as Shohel Rana, 45.
Sheikh Abu Hasan, officer-in-charge of Savar Highway Police Station said the accident occurred when a speeding lorry truck rammed into a stationary truck on the highway.
The driver of the lorry died on the spot. Two injured passengers of the van were admitted to a nearby hospital, the OC said.
Being informed, police removed the both vehicles from the highway, said the OC, adding that the body has been kept at police custody.
