The price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 1,983 per bhori as the price of pure gold has gone up in the local market, Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced.
This means each carat of top-quality gold will now cost Tk 141,426, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) said in a statement on Wednsday (January 22).
The new prices will be effective from Thursday (January 23). It will remain in effect until further notice. Meanwhile, each bhori of 21-carat gold will cost Tk 138,999, while 18-carat gold’s price now stands at Tk 115,719.
The traditional gold price has been set at Tk 95,062. BAJUS said a 5 percent VAT and a minimum 6 percent wage have to be added to the jewellery.
