Four companies allowed to import 4 crores of eggs

The Commerce Ministry has allowed four companies to import 4 crores of eggs to bring stability to prices in the local market.

A top official of the ministry disclosed the matter to media on Monday.

He said the ministry on Sunday approved four companies to import one crore of eggs each.

The four companies are Mrs Mim Enterprise, Tiger Enterprise, Prime Energy and Arnob Trading.

The imported eggs are expected to arrive within a week of opening the Letter of Credit (LC). It will start in a few days, he added.
