The ongoing family conflict made a doctor of a garment factory named Jannatul Ferdous Bonya to commit suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan around her neck.
Bonya committed suicide after arguing with her husband again on Tuesday (June 14) evening. Police have recovered her hanging body from her home in the Station Road area of Tongi in Gazipur. Her husband Sabuj has been a fugitive since the incident.
Tongi East Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jabed Masood told the media, "Bonya was working as a doctor in a garment factory. For months, she had been arguing with her husband over family matters. They quarreled again on Tuesday evening. At one point, Bonya committed suicide by hanging herself with a ceiling fan around her neck.
The door later was broken and Bonya was rescued and sent to Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master General Hospital in Tongi, where doctors declared her dead. Legal action will be taken on the basis of the complaint of the victim's family.
Israt Jahan Annie, a doctor at the hospital's emergency department, said Bonya had died before she could be brought to the hospital.
